Don Roberts Beauty School has been approved by the U.S. Department of Education to provide financial assistance to eligible students in order to meet the expense of your education. These requirements for Financial Assistance are applicable to all eligible courses offered at Don Roberts Beauty School.
Our Financial Aid Administrators are qualified to assist you in financial planning and obtaining the financial assistance you need to meet your education expenses. All information provided to us will be held in the strictest confidence.
The financial aid process should begin immediately, when you make the choice to begin your new career. The US Department of Education and the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency have gone paperless. As a result, the initial application for grants and student loans is done by the student on www.fasfa.ed.gov. Our school code number is 014523. Make sure you save a copy of your password and PIN number for future reference.
In the event no grants are awarded, the student loan application web site is www.StudentLoans.gov. Both the entrance interview and the promisory notes are completed on line ..
To meet your needs, the financial aid office is available Wednesdays and Saturdays 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. To ensure that we give you the necessary time and attention, please call for an appointment.
Required Documents
To file for financial aid the following documents are required:
Birth certificate or Valid Passport/Proof of legal name changes
Proof of High School Completion/Ged/Official Transcript
Drivers License/State ID
Social Security Card
Proof of Income/Past and Current Year (both student and parents income if the future student is single does not support a child and under the age of 24)
Don Roberts Beauty School is approved by the Department of Education to participate in the following Title IV financial aid programs.
Federal Pell Grant: The Federal Pell Grant Program provides financial assistance to students that meets financial need set by the federal government. They are available to students who demonstrate financial need, based on a federal formula and who have not already received a bachelors degree. Grants do not have to be repaid.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG): Supplemental Grants are based on the funds available and do not have to be repaid.
Federal Direct Loan Program:
Subsidized Federal Direct Loan Subsidized Federal Direct Loans carry a fixed interest rate. Eligibility is based on financial need. This is a loan that must be paid back. If you are eligible, you may borrow as long as all the required paperwork has been completed. The federal government pays the interest on a Subsidized Federal Direct Loan while you attend school, during the grace period (first six months after you leave school) and during periods of deferment. Your first payment is due six months after you leave school.
Unsubsidized Federal Direct Loan Unsubsidized Federal Direct Loans carry a higher fixed interest rate. This is a loan that must be paid back. You are responsible for the interest that accrues on the Unsubsidized Loan while you are in school and during your grace period. Your first payment is due six months after you leave school unless you choose to pay the interest on this loan while you are in school.
Federal Direct Plus Loan (Parent Loan): These loans are borrowed by the parents of dependent students. Plus loan has a fixed interest rate. The parent starts paying on the Plus loan within 60 days after the loan is fully disbursed.
Additional Funding Sources: Besides the Federal Aid Programs there are third party loans available to qualified students. For students who do not qualify for federal financial aid, we offer a number of flexible installment option plans to fit a student’s individual needs.
Don Roberts Beauty School is approved for Veterans’ benefits programs.
